We would like to invite you to Textile Roofs 2016Workshop in Berlin. The 21st edition of Textile Roofs aims at bringing together international expert knowledge and facilitating the dialogue on emerging topics in the field of Architectural Membrane Structures.

The main objectives of this workshop are to provide fundamental information, as well as presenting the state-of-the-art in textile roof engineering. Above all, the workshop aims to provide practical answers to real-world questions.

Among others the following subjects will be addressed

The workshop offers an interdisciplinary forum in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, geodesy and technologies related to membrane structures.  We sincerely welcome you to take part of this activity in sharing with us your expertise and passion about Textile Roofs in 2016.

Textile Roofs 2016 is scientifically directed by Ms. Prof. Rosemarie Wagner (KIT - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) and is an event of AcaMem - operated by academus GmbH as promoter for educational events in the field of Membrane Architecture. Following last year's success the workshop is organized at the Archenhold Observatory, Berlin and is supported by our partner TensiNet.

In addition to a comprehensive programme of lectures presented in English by key figures from the membrane structure industry and academia, opportunity for the study and hands-on development of practical case-studies in an informal tutorial environment is provided.

During the afternoons we offer a joint participant project with guided design and development of an erectable structure. Experiments at this hands-on workshop ran with opportunities for both physical and computational modeling under one common topic. Each participant will work with advanced and High-End Software products and is guided by the workshop organizers through the different strands:

Physical Modelling

Computational Modelling

Preparation and Erection of the Structure

In parallel to the regular workshop programme a Textile Roofs 2016 Student's Workshop is organized. The results of this workshop will be discussed with the participants in the afternoons.

Textile Roofs 2016 closes on May 4th with a parting drink.

Next to the social events (sightseeing tour, workshop banquet and parting drink) a special guest lecture will be presented.
